Southwold is a wonderful place to visit all year round, with a working lighthouse, beach huts, an award winning pier, busy harbour for fresh fish, cliff top cannon and of course the sandy beach. A great place to abandon the car and explore maybe take a boat trip on the coastal voyager.

Dunwich Heath is run by the National trust and consists of miles of excellent walks and tracks through open heath land along with its shady woods it provides a home to wildlife in this important nature conservation area. From the carpark there is access to the beach, coastguard cottages, tea room and shop.

Halesworth is just 2 mile away and is an historic market town with railway and airfield museums. It also hosts the local supermarket, banks and post office. Restaurants, pubs and fish and chip shop.

RSPB Minsmere is famous to birdwatchers and speaks for itself.

Walberswick is famous for the The British Open Crabbing Championships which raises funds for various charities. Crabbing by the harbour is a major attraction for children in the summer and the bridges and river banks become crammed with buckets and lines. Along with this Walberswick has tea rooms, restaurants, two pubs an art gallery and gift shops.

There are also local golf clubs in Halesworth and you can even go trout fishing at Ash Farm just half a mile from Wren Cottage.

Various animal parks are local including Africa Alive which boasts to be one of UK's largest and most exciting wildlife attractions set in 100 acres of dramatic coastal parkland.
